NEW YORK — Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman released the following statement on the decision by Bath & Body Works stores to end on-call scheduling:
“Following discussions with my office, L Brands’ subsidiary Bath & Body Works has agreed to end on-call shifts for employees in all U.S. stores next month. Employees deserve stable and reliable work schedules to adequately plan for childcare, transportation, and other basic needs. I commend Bath & Body Works for taking this important step to make their employees’ schedules fairer and more predictable. I am proud that the inquiry my office launched into on-call scheduling is yielding positive results for tens of thousands of workers with Bath & Body Works joining Gap, Abercrombie and Fitch, and fellow L Brands subsidiary Victoria’s Secret in ending this scheduling practice.”
