New York—Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman released the following statement today in honor of Independence Day:
“Today we celebrate the sacrifices and risks taken by our founding mothers and fathers to bring about our nation’s freedom. The brave visionaries who signed the Declaration of Independence affirmed our commitment to equality and justice for all, and it is my office’s mission to make those founding ideals a reality for all New Yorkers. Let us recommit ourselves to fight for those principles that have been so important to our country for 239 years, as we strive to make our nation a better place for every American. I wish New Yorkers and all Americans across the country a festive and joyous Fourth of July.”
